Donkeys, Humility, and Jesus

Often like donkeys, we can forget that all the commotion on Palm Sunday was not because we were walking into town but because we were carrying Jesus into town. The cheering, the praising, the palm branches and cloaks laid on the ground for us to walk on weren't because of us. It all was and always is to be because of Him and for Him, Jesus the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. We forget this truth from time to time and think the cheering and praise should be for us and about us. No, we don't want all the praise, honour and glory, but if we are really honest with ourselves, we often want some of it. Silly donkeys.
